Registry Terms of Use

This Registry is provided by the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority (the “Authority”) conditional on your acceptance of the terms and conditions set out below (the “Terms of Use”). By using this Registry, you agree, without limitation or qualification, to be bound by and to comply with the Terms of Use. 


If you submit information to the Registry, you agree to (a) provide true, current and complete information; and (b) maintain and promptly update the information to keep it true, current and complete.
The Authority’s use and disclosure of any information about you or your business that it collects in connection with the Registry is subject to the Authority’s Access and Privacy Code.  


If you are given a username or password for the purpose of accessing the Registry or participating in certain activities on the Registry, you are solely responsible and liable for all activities conducted under that username or password. 

You will take all necessary steps to ensure that no one other than you uses that username or password and that the password is kept confidential. If you have any reason to believe that any username or password assigned to you has become known to or been used by any other person, you will inform the Authority immediately.

The assignment of a username or password to you is in the Authority’s sole discretion. The Authority may, at any time, change any username or password assigned by the Authority to you. The Authority will notify you when it does so. 


The Registry is to be accessed and used by registrants solely to view, submit, and make changes to their Registry information. No other use of the Registry is permitted, unless otherwise explicitly indicated. 
Without restricting the generality of the foregoing, you agree that you will not:
  • use the Registry in a way that could damage it or the information displayed on it
  • interfere with Registry security or the security of linked sites
  • disrupt or interfere with another person's use of the site
  • use or attempt to use another's account, password, system or service
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to the restricted areas of this site
Any commercial use of the Registry or its content, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, without prior written consent of the Authority is specifically forbidden.
Public Information, as defined in the Authority’s Access and Privacy Policy, may be published on the Registry. Public Information published on the Registry may only be used for personal and public non-commercial or educational use and, except where otherwise prohibited, may be reproduced, in part or in whole and by any means, without charge or further permission from RPRA, provided that: 
  • The information not be modified. 
  • The information may not be sold or reproduced for sale.
  • Users exercise due diligence in ensuring the accuracy of the information before using it.  
  • The user identify the Authority as the source of the information with the following statement: 
    • The source of the information is The use of this information by [insert user name here] is done without any affiliation with or endorsement by the Authority. Reliance upon [insert user name here]'s use of this information is at the risk of the end user. 


The information provided on or through the Registry is not intended to be legal advice and it shall not be relied upon as legal advice.
Any use of the Registry, its content, or the information provided through it shall be at your sole risk. The Registry and the information on it is provided “as is” and without warranties or conditions of any kind either express or implied. To the fullest extent possible under applicable law, RPRA disclaims all warranties and conditions, express or implied, including but not limited to, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement or other violation of rights. The Authority does not warrant or make any other representations regarding the use, accuracy, timelines, applicability, performance, security, availability or reliability of the Registry or any sites linked to the Registry, or the results from the use of the Registry or any sites linked to the Registry, or otherwise respecting the materials on the Registry or any sites linked to the Registry.
Under no circumstances including, but not limited to negligence, shall the Authority be liable for any loss or damages whatsoever, including any direct, indirect, special, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of or in any way connected with the use of, or the inability to use, the Registry or the information on the Registry.

The content of the Registry is either owned by the Authority, or the Authority has the right to use the material. All of the content on the Registry is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Except as noted in these Terms of Use, none of the content on the Registry may be copied, reproduced, distributed, republished, downloaded, displayed, posted or transmitted in any form or by any means without the prior written consent of the Authority, or the original owner, where applicable. 

All trademarks used and/or displayed on this Registry are registered or unregistered trademarks or official marks of the Authority or a third party. Nothing on the Registry should be interpreted to grant any license to use any trademark or official mark without the express written permission of the Authority or third party, where applicable. To inquire about obtaining permission to use trademarks, please send a request to the Authority, at the below address. 


From time to time, you may choose to ask, make or provide questions, suggestions, ideas, comments, recommendations, feedback, requests or other information relating to the Registry (“Feedback”) to the Authority.  By providing any Feedback to the Authority, you:  (i) agree that the Feedback is not confidential; and (ii) assign all right, title and interest in and to the Feedback to the Authority including all intellectual property rights. The Authority shall be entitled to the unrestricted use and dissemination of any Feedback for any purpose (commercial or otherwise) without any acknowledgment of or compensation to you.


Links to websites not under the control of the Authority are provided solely for the convenience of users, and the Authority is not responsible for the content of any other website. The Authority does not endorse, authorize, approve, certify, maintain, or control these external Internet addresses and does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, efficacy or timeliness of the information located at such addresses. The Authority is not responsible for the privacy practices of such websites. The Authority encourages users to review the privacy policies of any linked websites before navigating any website or disclosing personal information online. 


There may be circumstances where access to the Registry is provided by a hypertext link located at another website. The Authority has no responsibility for the content of such other sites and does not endorse, authorize, approve, certify, maintain, or control these external Internet addresses and does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, efficacy or timeliness of the information located at such addresses. 


The Authority may terminate these Terms of Use, including any licenses contained herein, at any time and further may terminate the user's access to any and all portions of the Registry if the Authority determines in its sole discretion that the user failed to comply with any term of these Terms of Use. Upon termination, the user must cease use of the Registry and destroy all content from the Registry, and all related documentation and all copies thereof, whether made under these terms or otherwise, and/or take any additional or alternative reasonable steps that the Authority may direct in respect of the termination of the use.  


The Authority may change these Terms of Use from time to time and at any time.  When the Authority changes these Terms of Use, the Authority will post the updated version of the Terms of Use on the Registry together with the date on which it was revised. The Authority has the right, in its sole discretion, to change or modify the Registry from time to time including but not limited to adding or removing functionality or features or changing its name. The Authority may change the Registry without prior notice to you. Your continued use of the Registry after changes to the Terms of Use are posted will constitute acceptance of the changes.


Should any provision of these Terms of Use be held to be invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, then that provision will be enforced to the extent permissible, and all other provisions will remain in effect and are enforceable. 

These Terms of Use will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein, without reference to its conflict of laws provisions.
